Hi! I am Anwesha. I am a Counselling Psychologist in India. I have completed my Masters in Psychological Counselling from Bangalore. I have trained under supervision during my degree and during my first year of working as a therapist. I provide online individual sessions to people who wish to work through issues regarding emotion regulation, stress, feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or other related concerns. I do not provide clinical diagnosis or conduct psychological tests as of now but any changes to that will always be updated.
Through my training, I have had the opportunity to explore different theories like- Psychodynamic approach, Client-Centered approach, Humanistic approach, Gestalt approach, Behavioural and Cognitive Behavioural approach. Additionally, I have also had the opportunity to explore alternative practices like, guided relaxation, guided imagery from Amrit Asmi and Level 1 of Hypnotherapy from ICHARS.
I continue to try to broaden my horizons as a therapist and consider culture, societal influence, gender, identity, and systemic impact of the same. I believe therapy is a collaborative process and every individual has their unique strengths that they can bring to the forefront during sessions.
Over the course of four years, I have had the opportunity to speak to many wonderful people of different age groups, to know their own journeys, to come to therapy, and to prioritize themselves. I realize that opening up to a stranger can be scary, and I do hope that I can provide a safe space to be vulnerable, to collaborate, and to work on achieving our therapy goals together.
I provide sessions in English, Hindi, Bangla, and Assamese. I provide a sliding scale for my sessions, which we can discuss (if and when needed) after confirming a time slot or at the end of sessions.
